26 year old Tom was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma back in February 2004. Tom speaks about how he put off seeing a GP about a painless lump in his neck as he never imagined it would turn out to be something as serious as cancer. Tom talks about how the lack of control he felt throughout his treatment and post treatment so Tom took things into his own hands by challenging himself to do fundraising for Macmillan and therefore challenged himself to work in the hospital where he was once treated for cancer to make sure he was ready to go into medicine. In the words of Mr. Grew “We’re here for a good time…not a long time!”
